Are you going on a trip and do you need proof that you have no corona inspite of your positive test?
Due to the worldwide coronavirus, more and more countries are asking for a so-called ‘Fit-to-Fly’ (FTF) Certificate. This states that the passenger has been seen by a doctor and is suitable to travel by plane. Free of symptoms that may indicate corona.
During the appointment, the doctor will go through a questionnaire with you about your health and perform some tests. For example, your temperature is measured and so is your blood pressure. After approval you will receive an (English) statement.
Countries but also airlines use different guidelines for travel. For example, the statement may not be older than 72 hours when applying for a visa. Inquire at the embassy about the current requirements.
The measures can change at any time. Therefore, be well informed by your travel agency, airline company or embassy. You are responsible for this yourself.
Corona recovery certificate
Do you have plans to travel abroad and have you recently tested positive for corona?
Some countries have certain requirements to enter the country. A corona vaccination certificate or corona recovery certificate from the GGD are often not sufficient.
It can take a long time before you test negative for corona again after an infection.
You may be required to present a fit-to-fly statement or recovery certificate at the border. This is a statement, drawn up by an independent doctor, who declares that despite a positive test you no longer have any complaints and you can no longer infect others.
You will be symptom-free for at least 72 hours and it has been at least one week since you tested positive for the first time.
Unfortunately, Keurdokter cannot help you with this certificate. You can contact KLM-Health Services for the fit-to-fly certificate.
