Working and living in Bahrain

Are you going to work or study in Bahrain for an extended period? This country has certain health requirements. A medical examination is a mandatory part of the permit application procedure.
We regularly conduct this medical examination for students, expats, and individuals staying in the country for extended periods.
Have you received a form? Please send it to us so we can review the requirements.
The “Medical Checkup Requirement Form” from the Kingdom of Bahrain must be completed by an independent physician.

The medical examination may include:

  • Chest X-ray;
  • Various blood tests, including a total blood count, HIV, and syphilis;
  • ECG;
  • Stool;
  • Physical examination;
  • BMI: Height/weight;
  • Blood pressure.

What should you bring to the examination?

  • The form from the consulate;
  • Your passport;
  • Any medications or a list from the pharmacy;
  • Urine (can also be collected at our location);
  • Healthcare card – useful for registering at the hospital for the chest X-ray.

The medical examination takes approximately 30 minutes. After the examination, the blood sample is sent to the lab. As soon as the lab results and the chest X-ray are received, we will send you all signed documents by email and (the original paperwork) by mail.

If you have any questions about the medical certificate or Keurdokter’s examinations, please feel free to contact us via our contact form or call +31 (0) 228 – 543 903.
